
Associate Professor Geoff Ramin
International Medical Systems (IMS) was formed by Geoff Ramin and provides high quality medical repatriation services to and from anywhere in the world. IMS also provides a range of consultancy and educational services related to pre-hospital care, aeromedical transportation and medical retrieval. IMS' activities have been as diverse as helping develop industrial paramedic services on Groote Eylandt, providing medical support to sporting events and training all aeromedical doctors for the Hong Kong helicopter based medical retrieval system. Geoff is a specialist Emergency Physician who also works clinically in Intensive Care. He has extensive experience in pre-hospital care and medical retrieval. He is currently the Senior Specialist Aeromedical and Critical Care Services for the Royal Flying Doctor Service Qld, the Director of Emergency Medicine at the John Flynn Hospital, a VMO in Intensive Care at the Tweed Hospital and a Senior Medical Consultant to Allianz Global Assistance. He has previously received an Australia Day Medallion for his services to pre-hospital care. His passion for adventures includes mountaineering, scuba diving, hiking in the wilderness and generally getting lost.
Dr Chip Gresham
Dr. Chip Gresham is a US trained emergency medicine physician and a medical toxicologist working at Middlemore hospital in Auckland New Zealand where he serves as the co-director of education for the department of emergency medicine. He completed his emergency medicine training at the University of Massachusetts followed by a 2 year medical toxicology/toxinolgy fellowship at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Centre in Phoenix, Arizona. While his bench research is in organophosphate poisoning and toxicity, focusing on new antidotes, it is his love and expertise of toxinology and environmental medicine that has allowed him to travel and teach around the world. When not at work, Chip can be found somewhere outdoors, pursuing his passions which include rock climbing, ice climbing, exploring places he has not been yet and suffering from an incurable case of wanderlust.
Dr Nick Watson
Dr Nick Watson is a consultant in anaesthetics at Eastbourne District General Hospital, England. He had the dubious honour of studying with Geoff Ramin at Guy’s Hospital, before going on to specialize in Anaesthetics and Critical Care. Between 1994 and 2007 he was Director of Critical Care at Eastbourne DGH, and has also been Medical Lead for the Sussex Critical Care Network. His current interests include teaching and resuscitation: he runs courses on transfer of the critically ill patient and recognition of critical illness (ALERT), as well as instructing on ALS, ATLS and EPLS courses. He is the Regional Medical Representative for the UK Resuscitation Council. Extracurricular activities include cycling (road and mountain bike), sailing and skiing. In 2011 he cycled from Eastbourne to Paris in less than a day, to raise money for the ICU. He has been fortunate enough to join Geoff on previous expeditions to Kilimanjaro, Papua New Guinea and Peru.
